PetBooked ("we", "us", or "our") operates as a digital platform connecting pet owners with licensed veterinary clinics in Egypt. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal information in compliance with Egyptian data protection regulations and applicable laws.

• Account Data: Full name, email address, phone number, and profile photo.
• Pet Data: Pet name, species, breed, age, weight, gender, photos, and medical history.
• Appointment Data: Booking history, selected services, clinic preferences, and appointment notes.
• Payment Data: Transaction records for completed appointments. Full payment card details are processed exclusively by licensed third-party payment processors and are never stored on our servers.
• Device Data: Device type, operating system, browser type, IP address, and push notification tokens for app functionality.
• Usage Data: Pages visited, features used, and interaction timestamps to improve the platform experience.

3. How We Use Your Data

• To create and manage your account and pet profiles.
• To facilitate appointment bookings between pet owners and veterinary clinics.
• To send appointment confirmations, reminders, and status updates via push notifications or SMS.
• To process platform service fees and maintain transaction records.
• To display your reviews and ratings to other users on the platform.
• To improve platform features and resolve technical issues.

4. Data Sharing

We share your data only in the following circumstances:

• With Clinics: Your name, pet details, and appointment information are shared with the clinic you book with to enable service delivery.
• With Payment Processors: Transaction data is shared with licensed payment providers solely for processing purposes.
• With Legal Authorities: We may disclose data when required by Egyptian law, court order, or government authority.
• We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data to any third party for marketing purposes.

5. Data Retention

We retain your account and pet data for as long as your account remains active. Medical records and appointment history are retained for a minimum of 5 years to support your pet's ongoing healthcare needs. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us, subject to any legal retention obligations.

6. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including encrypted data transmission (TLS/SSL), secure cloud infrastructure provided by Supabase, role-based access controls, and regular security audits. While we take all reasonable precautions, no digital system is completely immune to security risks.

7. Your Rights

• Access and download a copy of your personal data.
• Correct inaccurate or incomplete information through your profile settings.
• Request deletion of your account and personal data.
• Withdraw consent for push notifications through your device settings.
• Lodge a complaint with the relevant Egyptian data protection authority.

8. Children's Privacy

PetBooked is not directed at individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from minors. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal data, please contact us immediately.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. We will notify you of significant changes through the app or via email. Continued use of PetBooked after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
